Important notes
- Ratio order matters. A:B and B:A are generally different ratios.
- Equivalent ratios differ by the same non-zero factor on every term.
- A proportion can be checked with A×D=B×C cross multiplication.
- 0:0 is undefined, and a proportion that divides by zero cannot be solved.
- Negative values are excluded from general-user mode.
- Percent calculations belong to TOOL061, discounts to TOOL062, and statistics to TOOL064.
