PRACTICAL DETAILS
Transparent images are never automatically changed to JPG.
Change the detected photo, graphic, or screenshot type per file when needed.
Each file shows why a format was selected or why the original was kept.
Originals and candidates remain in browser memory. Safe limits are 10 files, 15 MB each, 50 MB total, 20 million pixels per file and in total, with a maximum side of 16,384 px.
It can be smaller but slower, and WebP may be the better balance for some images.
A smaller file is not better when text or thin lines become unclear.
Re-encoded results remove metadata. Original-kept results retain the original bytes and metadata.
Lower transfer size can help, but exact loading-time or ranking gains are not guaranteed.
