Temperature conversion is different from mass and pressure

Mass and pressure use canonical factors, while temperature requires scale-and-offset formulas between °C, °F, and K.
MASS

Mass reference

Use kilograms as the canonical basis for mg, g, t, oz, and lb. For a quick check, 1 kg is about 2.20462 lb; the physical mass does not change with the unit.

TEMP

Temperature formulas

Celsius and Fahrenheit are not related by scale alone: °F=°C×1.8+32. Kelvin uses K=°C+273.15.

PRESSURE

Pressure reference

Use pascals as the canonical basis for kPa, MPa, bar, atm, psi, and mmHg. This changes the unit used to express the same pressure.

QUICK REF

Common reference values

1 bar=100 kPa, 1 MPa=1000 kPa, and 0°C=32°F=273.15 K. These are useful sanity checks.

ABSOLUTE ZERO

Absolute zero

Kelvin cannot be below 0 K, equivalent to -273.15°C, so lower temperature inputs are rejected.

PRESSURE TYPE

Gauge vs absolute pressure

This tool converts units only; it does not convert gauge pressure into absolute pressure. Check the pressure type before engineering or equipment calculations.

Yes. It uses established conversion factors while decimal display precision is controlled separately.

02Why is °C to °F not simple multiplication?+

Fahrenheit includes a 32-degree offset, so °F = °C × 1.8 + 32.

03Does it support Kelvin?+

Yes. °C, °F, and K convert both ways, and values below 0 K are rejected.

04Can it convert psi, bar, and kPa?+

Yes. It supports Pa, kPa, MPa, bar, atm, psi, and mmHg.

05Does decimal precision change the calculation?+

No. It changes display precision only, from 0 to 8 decimal places.
